On Tuesday, the 14th of September 2010, at 6:00 PM, the Most Reverend Spiritual Father welcomed the Ambassador of Lebanon to Armenia Mr. Gabriel Geara, in the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate.
The Most Reverend Spiritual Father and the Ambassador discussed the sociopolitical situation of Armenia.
The Ambassador talked about the situation of the minorities by mentioning that according to the last census taken under the patronage of the American University of Armenia, located in Yerevan, there are 180.000 Armenian Catholics in Armenia.
Mr. Geara also shed light on his good relations with Echmiadzin, especially with His Holiness Karekin II Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of all Armenians.
He also talked about Karabakh by saying that Karabakh represents a very important shelter for the Christians living in the Middle East.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his sincere feelings towards Armenia and the Armenians and he offered the Spiritual Father his good wishes. In his turn, the Spiritual Father did the same to the Ambassador.
Let’s mention that the Ambassador Mr. Gabriel Geara had taught years ago in the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School.
