On Monday, the 5th of July 2010, the « Eastern Christians’ » group held a meeting in the convent of Bzommar, in the presence of Eparchy Assistant Bishop of Beirut His Excellency Mgr. Hovhannes Teyrouzian, former vice-president of the Lebanese parliament Mr. Elie Ferzli and Ambassador Fouad Turk. During the meeting, Mr. Antoine Kalaydjian made an opening speech in the name of the Armenian Catholic community. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of the Eastern Christians’ presence by finding the best proper means to maintain this presence and to strengthen it, because Christians stimulate the Arabs’ revival.
This Pan-Christian meeting took place before the special Synod for the Middle East that will take place in October 2010 in Rome.
